Unfortunately, many of these stations, built decades ago, contained asbestos, including 450mm asbestos pipes that ran down 13 meters into the well.
The challenge was not just the presence of asbestos but the environment in which it was located. The sewage pump station had areas with explosive gases like sulfur dioxide and sulfuric acid, adding complexity and risk to the removal process.

To ensure the air quality remained safe throughout the removal process, we used state-of-the-art air monitoring equipment.
